两只白化鳄鱼加入Atlantis水族馆

来自Florida的这两只濒临灭绝的物种作为新成员加入水族馆

迪拜：两只稀有的白化鳄鱼新加入了超过65000只海洋生物的亚特兰蒂斯Atlantis水族馆——ThePalm’sTheLostChambersAquarium。

这两只仍然没有名字的的物种来自佛罗里达Florida的一家农场，作为新成员加入了水族馆，是阿联酋第一次接受这种物种。

TheLostChambersAquarium的主管NatashaChristie说道，接受这两只稀有鳄鱼的决定经过了大家几个月的研究和认真讨论。她解释说道，它们的白色皮肤基因使它们更具有吸引力，这也正是它们容易遭到捕杀的原因。

这两只本应生活在野外的爬行动物已经被安置在装有热光灯的室内，热光灯会保证室内温度为26~33摄氏度。

Christie说道：“我们亚特兰蒂斯Atlantis水族馆的目标就是指导游客了解更多的水中动物。为了让大家更多的了解这两只令人着迷的爬行动物，我们会很仔细的保护这两只濒临灭绝的物种。”

白化鳄鱼在冷血种属里面是极为罕见的，仅仅在中国和美国东南部的某些地区可以发现，比如佛罗里达Florida和Louisiana。

Stillunnamed,theendangeredspecieswhocamefromafarminFlorida,arethenewestresidentsattheaquariumandthefirstoftheirkindintheUAE.

NatashaChristie,DirectorofTheLostChambersAquarium,saidthedecisiontoaddtherarereptilestotheaquariumwasmadeaftermonthsofresearchandcarefulconsideration.Sheexplainedthattheirgeneticwhiteskincolourgivesthematrulyintriguingappearance,andisthereasonwhytheyareoftenexploited.

Thetworeptiles,whichwouldnotsurviveinthewild,havebeenplacedinachamberequippedwithspecialheatlamps,whichgiveatemperaturegradientofbetween26-33degreesCelsius.

“OurgoalatAtlantisistoeducateguestsondifferentaquaticanimals.Bylearningmoreaboutthesefascinatingreptiles,wecanconservethiscriticallyendangeredspecies,”saidChristie.

Albinoalligatorsaretherarestamongtheircold-bloodedrelativesandareonlyfoundintheUSA’ssoutheasternareas,suchasFloridaandLouisianaandinChina.
