修改道路名称是由沙特阿拉伯国王King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud殿下提出的，国王Salman对整个地区和穆斯林社会作出过很多贡献。

在沙特阿拉伯八十六个国庆日到来之际，阿联酋副总统兼总理及迪拜酋长Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum下令更改Al Sufouh道路名称。

The renaming was in recognition of King Salman and his achievements in the region and the wider Muslim world.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the renaming of Al Sufouh Street after His Highness King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, on the occasion of the 86th Saudi National Day.
