Yara的母亲说：“家庭里男人们和我前夫的矛盾导致了我们分居。”“七岁之前，Yara一直和我住在一起。三个月前，她的父亲反对她和我住在一起，按照规定，她搬去利雅得和她父亲住在一起。她不愿意和父亲住在一起，因此特别难过。”母亲告诉SaudidailyAlWatan.

YaradiedreportedlyafewhoursbeforeEidAlAdha,theFeastofSacrifice,oneofthemostauspiciousoccasionsforcelebrationsbychildrenintheIslamicworld.

“Thefamilyconflictsbetweenmenandmyformerhusbandhadledtoourseparation,”Yara’smothersaid.“YaramovedinwithmeandItookcareofheruntilshereachedseven.Herfatherrefusedtoallowhertolivewithmeandthreemonthsago,shewenttolivewithhiminRiyadhaspertheregulations.Shedidnotwishtomoveinwithhim,andshewasveryunhappy,”shetoldSaudidailyAlWatan.
